Web Hosting Business?
Can someone explain to me how to make money in web hosting business, I have no clue in this business, I spend almost in average 8hrs on the internet in a day, so I am thinking that instead of reading news or surfing websites I start to thinking that I can be making money on the internet. I ask a question online 2 days ago and someone responded back that i should give a web hosting business a short, after i go through some information online I start to have more interest in this business, but in all honesty i need help on how to start this business, I need step by step guide, advice, mentor, any tool that will make me to be successful, etc. Also how much will it take to start and how to start, and what to expect.
Thanks

I think the best way is to start as a reseller first. But before you start what you should do is researching on your competitor first and then the need of your targeted customer. What they really need in a hosting company. Your hosting should be provide the closest possible services to your targeted customer needs. People always switching hosting company online so why is that. Successful business people is the one who research and test the market often.
instead of competing with the big companies, what i would suggest you is to go for the reseller webhosting business. Hostgator, one of the most reliable and affordable hosting service provides a great re-seller webhosting scheme. you can check it out here http://reviewspile.com/internet/review-o…
i think that will help you start up.
If you get loads of customers, you can earn quite a bit. The real amount you actually put in the bank depends on your overhead.
You would need a Web hosting site, with hosting plans. You should make them affordable, so more people will likely sign up. You should have plans such as standard, plus, premium, etc.
You also need to optimize for search engines and advertise, a lot.
The only hard part of starting that business is getting customers. You just need a lot of bandwidth from your local cable/dsl provider and a high assurance that it will be up 99.9% of the time.
It is not a lucrative business for an individual as there are too many big companies with rediculous servers and bandwidth that you won’t be able to compete with.
I would try to find something else.
Here’s my suggestion for your web hosting business plans;
1. Prefer linux hosting. Linux is stable, secure and free. Holds most of the hosting market share. Later, when your business grows large enough, you may consider adding windows hosting to your services as well.
2. Find a descent linux host with cPanel control panel and reseller plans. cPanel is an extremely good control panel which hosting customers generally prefer and as a hosting reseller you will have your own WHM control panel to manage all the stuff. http://www.virgohosting.com can be a good alternative, rock-steady web host with really nice reseller plans. Affordable too.
3. Make a nice website and use a good billing software. A good alternative would be http://www.whmcs.com .
4. Work with a trusted payment gateway for payments, a good alternative may be http://www.paypal.com .
5. If you are familiar with it, try getting good rankings at search engines by doing some search engine optimization. You may also hire someone to do it for you, I guess the guys at Virgo Hosting offer such services as well.
